Rainy Lobster Cook Out

Today we went to Uncle Rodney's for my gram and gramp's 60th Wedding Anniversary. We had lobsters and clams and for those who don't eat the fine delicacies they had typical BBQ foods. Hot Dogs, burgers and chicken. It is amazing to me how many people don't eat lobster and clams! There was 40 lobsters and countless clams, certainly more than enough. The lobster were hard shelled (very hard, my dad broke a cracker attempting to get into one)

Everything was moved inside the garage due to weather and there were a couple tents on the deck to cook. The rain stopped for about an hour while everyone ate and then the sky opened up again. Considering how bad the weather was it went off very well.

Before we went we decided to bring extra clothes and dress the boys in rain coats and mud boots. There no sense in trying to stop them from going outside to play, just change them as needed. There were plenty of fun things to do outside, rockets and balloons. Oh yeah and a very cool mini-truck to drive.

We always knew Boy 1 is just a pip-squeak, but this proves it. Max and Jackson (Blue jacket on the right, my cousin Maries son) are only 4 months apart in age. Now Jackson is pretty tall for 4 years old, but not that tall. Max better learn to run fast if he gets lippy in school.

This rocket thing was pretty cool, I can see one being bought very soon for our house. You jump on the yellow pump and it shoots a nerf rocket into the air. Max could only send it about 10 feet into the air but Elliot had the technique down and could send it a good 30 feet up.

The boys out for a joy ride, tuning the radio....not watching the road. The thing has a real AM/FM radio

Memorial Day Weekend

Friday night we went to Gardiner to watch fireworks and what an awesome show they put on. Unfortunatley Carey ended-up watching them from the Car. Boy 2 was not a fan of the booms. The show lasted 25 minutes and there was never less than 3 shells in the air at once.

Sunday we took a little drive to Kennebunkport, kinda to check out all of the places we remembered from the puzzle we assembled last year on vacation. That puzzle came in quite handy, even
before we got into town we had decided where we would eat. Federal Jack's Brewery was a big piece of the puzzle, so that was our choice. We went to the beach to play after supper, even though the water was 54 degrees the boys would not come out once their legs went numb.

Monday was the Memorial Day parade. Kinda the same old stuff, but this was probably the last time Navy personnel would march in the parade. By this time next year the base will be completely closed.

Later in the afternoon Carey and the boys planted Pumpkin seeds so that we can plant them in our garden shortly.

And I don't care that he looks like me, has my sleeping habits and is always attached to my leg.....Boy 2 cannot be mine! No offspring of mine would look grouchy having their face covered in powdered sugar at 8:30 a.m.!!!

Sunday Paper

My Sunday morning ritual is having a coffee and reading the paper. Usually I make my way and have breakfast while still reading. As soon as Boy 2 sees me sitting in the chair he comes right up and wants his own section to read. I always give him the Audience section (Arts and Entertainment), well because I don't touch it. No matter where I go to read he follows..........or attempts to. He has become quite a cling-on to Dad.
